WADE: BIO

Wade Hescht currently serves as Chair of Drama/Humanities/Speech for Lone Star College-North Harris (Formally North Harris College). He has been directing plays and coaching the nationally recognized speech team for the college since 1994. Mr. Hescht earned his undergraduate degree at the University of St. Thomas and his Masters of Arts degree in Drama from the University of Houston. Wade is an active member of the Texas Educational Theatre Association, Texas Speech Communication Association, Texas Intercollegiate Forensics Association, American Forensics Association, National Forensics Association, American Reader’s Theater Association and Phi Rho Pi. He is the past recipient of TSCA’s Educator of the Year, Community College Division in 2010, Phi Rho Pi’s Distinguished Service Award in 2006, TIFA’s Educator of the Year in 2003 and NISOD’s Excellence in Teaching in 1998. A few of Mr. Hescht’s past students include: Kaybee Brown (PRP Top Speaker, AFA Champion), Christopher Sams (Phi Rho Pi Top Speaker), Derek Degeyter (Phi Rho Pi Top Speaker), Alexandria Ross, Alex Bergeron, Amanda Philio, Ava Love, Colin Gill, Jake Trevino, Joey Chance, Josselyn Gomez and Michael DeBose.
